OwnWise Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: June 1, 2026
Welcome to OwnWise. These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the OwnWise website, tools, content, repair diagnostic features, coverage analysis features, and related services, collectively referred to as the “Service.”
By using OwnWise, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who We Are
OwnWise helps users understand possible repair issues, warranty or coverage options, and potential next steps for household products and appliances. OwnWise may provide diagnostic suggestions, educational information, decision support, repair cost context, warranty or protection-plan summaries, and links to third-party resources or service providers.
OwnWise is operated by Living Rock Ventures LLC, referred to in these Terms as “OwnWise,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”
2. The Service Is Informational Only
OwnWise provides general informational and decision-support content. We are not a licensed repair provider, contractor, electrician, plumber, gas technician, insurance company, warranty administrator, law firm, or financial advisor.
Information provided through the Service is not professional advice. It should not replace advice from a qualified technician, manufacturer, warranty provider, insurer, licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, or other professional.
You are responsible for deciding whether to perform any troubleshooting, contact a professional, submit a claim, replace a product, or take any other action.
3. Repair Diagnostics and AI-Generated Information
OwnWise may use artificial intelligence, user-provided information, product data, manuals, public repair information, and other sources to generate repair-related suggestions.
You understand that:
- OwnWise may be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or not specific to your exact product, model, installation, location, or circumstances.
- A symptom may have multiple possible causes.
- A suggested repair path may not identify the actual root cause.
- Product manuals, manufacturer guidance, safety rules, warranty terms, and local laws may override any information shown by OwnWise.
- You should verify any recommendation before acting on it.
OwnWise does not guarantee that any diagnostic suggestion, part recommendation, cost estimate, warranty interpretation, or repair path is accurate, complete, safe, or appropriate for your specific situation.
4. Safety Warnings
Do not attempt any repair or troubleshooting that may be unsafe or beyond your skill level.
You should stop and contact a qualified professional if the issue involves or may involve:
- Gas leaks, gas appliances, or gas lines.
- Electrical wiring, exposed wires, sparking, burning smells, tripped breakers, or high-voltage components.
- Water leaks near electrical components.
- Refrigerant, sealed systems, compressors, or pressurized systems.
- Structural damage, mold, fire, smoke, carbon monoxide, or suspected hazardous materials.
- Heavy appliances that may tip, fall, or cause injury.
- Any repair requiring permits, licensed labor, or specialized tools.
If you smell gas, suspect a carbon monoxide issue, see smoke or fire, or believe there is immediate danger, leave the area and contact emergency services or the appropriate utility provider. OwnWise is not an emergency service.
5. Warranty, Insurance, and Coverage Information
OwnWise may help you understand possible warranty, extended protection plan, credit card benefit, retailer return, homeowner insurance, renter insurance, or other coverage options.
This information is not a coverage determination. Actual coverage depends on the terms, exclusions, documentation, provider rules, claim process, product condition, dates of purchase, maintenance history, and other facts.
Only the relevant manufacturer, retailer, warranty provider, insurer, credit card issuer, or administrator can make a final coverage decision.
OwnWise does not guarantee that a claim will be approved, that a repair will be covered, or that any particular provider will pay for a replacement, repair, refund, or reimbursement.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate and complete information when using the Service.
You are responsible for:
- Confirming your product brand, model number, serial number, purchase date, and coverage details.
- Reading and following applicable product manuals and safety instructions.
- Using proper tools and safety equipment.
- Knowing your own skill level.
- Complying with local laws, codes, permits, lease terms, HOA rules, and insurance or warranty requirements.
- Obtaining professional help when appropriate.
You should not rely solely on OwnWise before making decisions involving safety, significant expense, warranty rights, insurance claims, or professional repair work.
7. Photos, Documents, and User Content
You may be able to upload photos, videos, receipts, warranty documents, product labels, claim documents, or other information.
You represent that you have the right to upload anything you submit to OwnWise. You should not upload sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the Service.
You grant OwnWise a limited right to use your submitted information to provide, improve, secure, analyze, and support the Service. Our use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for removing or redacting information you do not want to share.
8. Third-Party Services, Providers, and Links
OwnWise may link to third-party websites, repair providers, parts suppliers, warranty providers, insurers, retailers, manufacturers, or other services.
We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their content, pricing, availability, safety, quality, conduct, warranties, claim decisions, or services.
If you choose to hire a technician, buy a part, submit a claim, contact a provider, or use a third-party service, your relationship is with that third party, not OwnWise.
9. Parts, Pricing, and Cost Estimates
Any parts, labor, repair, replacement, deductible, service fee, or claim estimate shown by OwnWise is an estimate only.
Actual costs may vary based on your product, location, provider, parts availability, diagnosis, taxes, shipping, service fees, urgency, labor rates, and other factors.
OwnWise does not guarantee the availability, compatibility, legality, quality, or safety of any part, tool, repair provider, or service option.
10. Affiliate Links and Compensation
OwnWise may receive compensation, referral fees, commissions, advertising fees, or other benefits when users click links, buy products, book services, submit claims, or use third-party providers.
When required, OwnWise will disclose material relationships or compensation arrangements. Any such compensation does not guarantee that a third-party product, provider, or service is the best option for you.
11. Accounts
Some features may require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and for activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for OwnWise, users, or third parties.

You may use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.
You may not copy, sell, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Service without permission.
14. Feedback
If you provide suggestions, comments, ideas, or feedback, you grant OwnWise the right to use them without restriction or compensation.
15. Privacy

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.
