Fisher & Paykel recalls pro gas ranges that can force the oven door open

Fisher & Paykel recalled its stainless-steel 30-, 36-, and 48-inch freestanding professional gas ranges (RGV3 models, natural gas or LP) over a burn hazard in the oven.

The problem is delayed ignition: gas can accumulate before it lights, and the resulting combustion can force the oven door open. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission notes that, as of April 10, 2026, the company had 16 reports of delayed ignition in the United States with no injuries (plus a burn injury reported in Canada). Affected units have a serial number starting with EEV, ERV, EAV, EYV, EUV, ELV, or RFV, and sold nationwide from June 2025 through March 2026 for $6,200 to $14,000.
