VST tankless water heaters recalled over a carbon-monoxide leak risk

VESTA.DS recalled roughly 36,700 of its VST-brand residential gas tankless water heaters in the United States over a carbon-monoxide hazard.

The exhaust duct can crack, letting combustion gases escape inside the home and creating a risk of carbon-monoxide (CO) poisoning, serious injury, or death. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission lists 33 reports of cracked exhaust ducts in the U.S., with no injuries reported. The recall covers wall-mounted Series VT, VR, and VR Plus units — model numbers including VRS-150/199, VRP-150/199, VTS-150/199, and VTP-150/199 — sold at plumbing-supply stores from May 2017 through July 2025 for $480 to $1,340.
